The Sharks reading program is designed to give teachers a tool – Sharks tickets – they can use to reward students who accomplish their reading goals. Last year more than 40 schools in the Cape Fear Region participated in the Sharks’ “Read Around the Bases” program.

Here’s how it works…Individual teachers determine the reading goals for their students and the time frame of the program. The Sharks will provide a pair of tickets to each student who accomplishes their goals as determined by the teacher. The tickets can be used for “Read Around the Bases” Nights at the Shark Tank.

Participation in “Read Around the Bases” is open to all elementary and middle schools within the Cape Fear Region. To participate, teachers and school leaders may email tickets@wilmingtonsharks.com and the Sharks will follow up with more information.

To help support Read Around the Bases, Sharky will be making school appearances…plus the Sharks office staff will be joining Sharky and reading to students.

All students and schools who participate receive complimentary Sharks bookmarks.
